Finding out we were pregnant was a total shock, even to this day sometimes it doesnt seem real. To those of you who dont know, Benjamin had cancer about 4 years ago. He beat it, Thank the Lord but we were told last year by our fertility doctor that due to the radiation and chemotherapy we had less than 1% chance to conceive a child naturally and probably would have to go through Invetro Fertilization (IVF) in order to have kids. This was def not the news we were hoping for. So we talked about it and just decided that if we are supposed to have a baby we would and if not in about 5 years we would try IVF. Well 5 months later and not even really "trying" we are pregnant! What an amazing miracle!!! I am still in such disbelief and we are SO thankful!!! So cool to see God at work in your life! So Ben and I decided to keep it a secret for awhile until I could get to the doctor and make sure everything was ok etc. Two days after finding out I was pregnant I was talking to my sister on the phone and I just had a gut feeling she was pregnant too. I asked her, she of course denied it but I just knew! She finally told me that she was and they were also keeping it a secret until they knew everything was ok with their baby. I was absolutely estatic!!! I broke my news to her and we both were crying, laughing, squealing etc!! She is only about 10 days ahead of me with the due date of November 9, 2011! How fun to be pregnant with your sister!!! We both knew that my Dad had a hand in this. He knew my mom would need something to keep her busy when he was gone and what a perfect gift :) So we decided that Easter would be the perfect time to tell everyone.
I made Easter eggs for our family and close friends. Inside I had special M&M's made that said "Baby Daves" on one side and our due date "Nov. 21, 2011" on the other along with our first ultrasound picture. The tags on the eggs say "Miracles Happen to those who Believe", how perfect :) All of their faces were priceless when they opened the eggs! It was a very special Easter this year!
Oh. My. Gosh. I'm on lunch break at work and your blog just made me cry (as I'm sitting in my office)!!! That is so awesome and yes, miracles do happen :) What an amazing blessing!!!
